Scabiosa caucasica - Fama Blue

One of those plants that earns its keep immediately, Scabiosa caucasica ‘Fama Blue’ is an easy, reliable perennial “flower machine” with huge, richly colored blooms that can reach up to 4" across. The lavender-blue flowers are beautifully studded with pale, pin-like centers, giving each bloom that classic pincushion look — elegant, airy, and absolutely fabulous for cutting.

Growing on sturdy stems up to 3' tall, ‘Fama Blue’ Scabiosa brings long-lasting color to cottage gardens, cutting gardens, pollinator borders, and romantic perennial plantings. Blooming from late spring into summer, and often into fall with regular deadheading, it keeps the garden feeling fresh, soft, and abundantly floral. Bees and butterflies adore the blooms, while gardeners love its mildew-free foliage, generous flowering, and graceful movement in bouquets.

Plant Scabiosa caucasica ‘Fama Blue’ in full sun with rich, well-drained soil for best performance. Cut back to about 2" tall in winter, and divide after a year or so to keep plants vigorous. Deer-resistant, long-blooming, and completely swoon-worthy.
