Mimulus - Jelly Bean Fiesta Marigold
Thanks to the patient breeding of the late, great Rick Pershoff, Mimulus ‘Jelly Bean Fiesta Marigold’ brings flamboyant, garden-friendly color to places that appreciate a plant with grit and glamour. Profuse 2" blooms glow in eye-popping amber-red, edged in gold like tiny festival lanterns, creating a warm, fiery display that can bloom year-round along the coast and spring through fall in hotter areas.
Branching to about 18" x 18", ‘Jelly Bean Fiesta Marigold’ Mimulus forms a tidy, showy mound of glossy emerald leaves, perfect for low-fertility gardens, native plantings, rock gardens, dry borders, and containers. It handles heat and can tolerate zero summer moisture once established, though a little summer water keeps it greener and bloomier. It will tolerate clayish soil, but performs best with good drainage.
Deer resistant, fire resistant, and hardy to 20 degrees F, this dazzling mimulus is tough, bright, and deliciously dramatic — a little marigold-colored firecracker for water-wise gardens.
