Alstroemeria - Tricolor
This is by far one of our favorite tough, looong-lived and EASY to grow Alstroemerias! First off, it blooms for an incredibly long time - from May thru Fall in USDA Zones 8 and 9. - offering up an endless supply of long-lasting cut flowers. Second, the blooms are extra-large- at least 2.5" across and delectably spotted and striped in pink, white, cherry and gold. Most of all, we prefer these taller-stemmed Alstroemerias, which are not easy to find nowadays (replaced by dwarf varieties) and are much more outstanding in a garden and, of course, more becoming in a vase. They spread by rhizomes to make a dense patch 3' tall and 3-4' across. Grow in composty soil for the most audacious show. Super in big containers. Deciduous, does not self-sow.
