Agrostemma - Milas
Our very favorite cottage garden charmer? Agrostemma ‘Milas’ makes a very strong case. Easy to grow, graceful in the breeze, and fabulous for cut flowers, this old-fashioned annual brings effortless romance to sunny borders, cutting gardens, meadow-style plantings, and loose, lovely cottage beds.
Growing about 36" tall and 18" wide, ‘Milas’ Agrostemma produces slender upright stems topped with a generous flurry of 2" satiny rose-pink flowers. Each bloom glows with a white throat and subtle radiating dark dotted lines, giving it a delicate, hand-painted look. One happy plant can produce a hundred or more blooms, swaying and sparkling through the garden like it was born for bouquets and breezy afternoons.
Plant Agrostemma ‘Milas’ in full sun with well-drained, compost-amended soil for the healthiest plants and best bloom show. It self-sows where happy, often returning with even more flowers the next season. In mild USDA Zones 9 and 10, it may bloom nearly year-round. Graceful, generous, and ridiculously easy to love.
